APPLICATION OF HOME-PRODUCED LOAD HAUL DUMPERS FOR EFFICIENT MINING OF THIN LODE DEPOSITS



The article substantiates ways of enhancing profitability in development of thin uranium ore bodies. The mines of the Priargunsky Industrial Mining and Chemical Union possess ample experience of using lightweight model foreign-produced load haul dumpers of the type of LH201D and L130D in development of thin uranium lodes. High prices and operating costs of import equipment necessitate reduction of uranium production cost through introduction of load haul dumper equipment of domestic manufacture. The industrial tests of preproduction series of PD-1E load haul dumper reveal the design and process defects of the machine. The remedial measures will ensure the machine reliability, human safety and drill equipment compatibility. The main source of data on PD-1E LHD performance in face area were stop-watch readings. The data of the stop-watch readings were processed using the mathematical statistics methods. The application of the home-produced narrow-web PD-1D LHD enables the dilution and the mining cost to be reduced by 15–20%.
