RELIABLE SYSTEM SUPPORT AND INSTRUMENTATION FOR RADIATION SAFETY

The article sets out the theoretical and practical results obtained in design and introduction of innovative instrumentation and computer-aided systems for radiation control in the area of ecology, science, medicine and industry. These instruments and systems are effectively used in power engineering (nuclear power plants), metallurgy, airports, radiation-hazardous works, at national boundaries, in checking personnel, pedestrians, passengers and luggage, in radioactive waste reprocessing and disposal, as well as in the social sphere, etc. The article informs on the radiation monitor of alpha and beta active substances RZBA-04-04M, radiation monitor MPS-01 Kordon MN for ground transport (road and railway), multi-purpose stationary radiation estimator MKS-2001 with digital data display and light indication, detection unit BDMG-04 and radionuclide activity monitor RUG-2001. The benefits of the introduction of the computerized systems and instrumentation are illustrated in terms of Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, etc.
